The Morettini organ of the church of San Agustín de Santiago
The organ of the Church of Saint Augustine was commissioned by the Augustinian fathers from Angelo Morettini, from Perugia, Italy in the 1870s, this being the most important instrument that left his workshop. The author refers to the circumstances of its construction and the coverage it received in the local press, to its transfer and assembly in Chile, to the original characteristics of the instrument and the modifications that were made following its remodeling in the 1920s. existing manual keyboards in Santiago, brings together elements of double origin: of the originally installed Italian organ, made by Morettini from Perugia, and of those that Oreste Carlini added, increasing the number of keyboards and registers.
