Instrument of a mechanical traction keyboard
Doctor Luis González tells us:
We visited this organ with John Moir in 1971,
and I made the entry of the composition of the registers in my Red Book on that occasion.
John later had the reed record repaired in Germany,
which returned to Chile along with the materials for the organ of the San Ignacio de Santiago Church.
The Jesuit community was in charge of sending those pipes to the Franciscans of La Serena.
I was later informed that the record had returned there,
but because the organ had been dismantled for restoration work on the temple, it was never rebuilt.
As of March 2006, I do not know if the organ has been reinstalled.
