This instrument was built by the German organ builder
Carl C. Weigle, Orgelbaumeister, Stuttgart, in 1896.
This is the Opus 196 organ of that builder.
It is a true gem, and we completely restored it in the eighties.
The pipe is of very good quality and the chapel has a beautiful resonance.
Unfortunately there was a missing reed on the Clarinette 8' register.
It's the only notable flaw it had.
The instrument was completely cleaned, the intonation carefully revised,
and the tuning remained in equal temperament.
I remember that you (Carlos Lauterbach) provided us with a fan motor for the inaugural concert.
The nuns were happy with the instrument, and later played another concert there.
They treated us with great courtesy and generosity.
Those nuns take very good care of that German jewel of organ work.
