This instrument was built in 1934 by the Walcker House, from Germany,
and installed that same year in the Church. Since then the instrument has been used
to accompany worship, its main purpose, and has been used in countless concerts.

In 2013, the organ, originally pneumatically powered, It was elected by the Argentine organ builder Alejandro Badi, who, in addition to carrying out general maintenance, He transformed, at the suggestion of maestro Luis González Catalán, the original "Salicional de 8'" register into a "Terz" of 1 3/5'. As part of said maintenance, the location of the console was changed to its current position. In 2016, an extension was made to the organ, in which a 16' "Cromorno" was added (donated by teacher Luis González Catalán), Additionally, the pedal board was expanded with 3 flute registers of 8', 4' and 2'. Both keyboards were expanded with a 16' Bourdón register as well as 8' and 4' extensions of the Cromorno on the pedal board. The electrical system was replaced with a digital one. This allowed the new registers to be incorporated, apart from providing the organist with greater resources. In 2018, maestro González Catalán donated an 8' trumpet register, which arrived in Chile in 2019, a few days before his death. The registration was installed, and incorporated into the registration of the pedal board and the second manual The organ cabinet was expanded by adding two additional bodies, one on each side of the original cabinet, to obtain the space necessary to locate the new registers. THE instrument was tuned in A 435, thus conforming to the original tuning and temperament. The second expansion of this body was planned by Mr. Luís González Catalán in 2018, and was carried out in 2021 by Carlos Lauterbach Rotach and Nicolás Petrovich Rodríguez, according to the latest specifications. The tuning and harmonization is being carried out by maestro Jorge Mario Baeza. The extension of the furniture was designed by the architect Pilar Baranda Ferrán. The furniture work was carried out by the master carpenter Mr. Fermín Zúñiga Gusmán. |
