Catedral de Iquique

Luís Gonzáles told us the following:

Mechanical Traction Organ, with two manual keyboards and pedal board.

Monsenor Valle called us to repair it, and once ready we delivered it in 1983 in a concert that filled the Church.

It was missing the fan motor and the 8-foot Trumpet register.

Monsenor Valle ordered us a Trumpet but we were not able to acquire it at the time.

Someone had worked on that body before and had removed the third row of the Mistura, altering its composition (Apparently the Fifth bothered her every time he left her with pure octaves (2'-1' / 4'-2' / 8'-4').

In 2006, the Chilean Site of Church Organs received a collection of photographs of the Organ of the cathedral, which suffered from the earthquake.

Unfortunately, the organ was not adequately protected during the restoration of the temple.   more...

An unfortunate loss of this wonderful instrument.
