Alejandro Reyes van Eweyk, started He completed his musical studies at the University of Chile, completing the basic cycle in piano (9 years), theory, harmony and analytical technique. He graduated Tonmeister degree at the Musikhochschule Detmold, Germany, in 1981. At that same school he completed his studies. Sacred Music studies (organ, conducting and composition).

In 1983 he entered He went to the Institute of Music of the Catholic University where he currently works as a professor of the chairs of Choral Conducting, Sheet Music Reading and Harmony, in addition to directing the Chamber Orchestra UC regularly.

In 1991 he joined He joined "Syntagma Musicum", the prestigious Early Music ensemble of the University of Santiago, later assuming its musical direction.

He has been organist and harpsichordist of the Chilean Chamber Orchestra since 2000.

He has formed and directed vocal ensembles of recognized quality such as the Collegium Josquin, the Collegium Vocale and the Ludus Vocalis. He led the Bach Corporation holding a choir festival and two successful Easter seasons (1989‑90).

In 1988, thanks to a scholarship from the Andes Foundation, he attended to a Higher Interpretation course in works by Bach, taught by Rosalyn Tureck in Sao Paulo, Brazil

In 1995 he received the award from the Art Critics Circle for his career.

He has been invited to conduct the Chilean Chamber Orchestra, the Chilean Symphony Orchestra, the Classical Orchestra of the University of Santiago and the La Serena Symphony Orchestra, performing numerous premieres.
