The organist ITALO OLIVARES CAÑETE, was born in Valparaíso on September 26, 1956, he completed his basic and secondary education in Viña del Mar.
His taste for music was born under the guidance of his family, his mother, a basic teacher, played the piano and his paternal and maternal grandmothers sang very beautifully, which is why at the age of 8 he began to play the piano. He studied music, later attending the Viña del Mar Conservatory.

His love for music led him in 1978 to enter the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, obtaining in 1989 the title of Senior Organ Performer, with maximum distinction.

In 1990 he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Music with a mention in Piano, Harmony, Theory and Music Theory with maximum distinction at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile.
His Organ teachers were Mrs. Carmen Rojas and Mr. Miguel Letelier and his Piano teacher was Mr. Carlos Botto.

He has a countless number of Post Degrees in Chile and Abroad which have been enriched with many outstanding performances in Chile and Abroad.

1992‑1994‑1996 Postgraduate Scholarship for International Spanish Music Courses Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) Spain. Prof. Monserrat Torrent.

1993 Scholarship University of San Juan Argentina Prof. C. Albrecht.

1995 Organ Concert Tour in Argentina

1997‑1999‑2001 and 2003 Participates as a soloist in organized concerts and sponsored by the German Chilean Institute of Culture.

1998 Selected to represent Chile in the VI International meeting of Organ. Buenos Aires, Argentina.

1999 Barcelona Spain Postgraduate Scholarship Professors Monserrat Torrent and Guido Iotti.

2000 Invited to the IV Organ Academy. Palencia, Spain. Teachers Monserrat Torrent and Roberto Fresco.

2001 Organ Course Scholarship Barcelona, ??Spain. Monserrat Torrent Teachers and Guido Iotti.

2002 To date, he actively participates in the "Music in the Heights" program Saint Paul's Anglican Church Valparaíso Chile.

2002 Invited scholarship to the VI Fray J. de Echeverría Organ Academy. Palencia, Spain. Professors Roberto Fresco, Cristina García Banegas, Augusti Bruach.

2003 Maresme Organ Course Scholarship in Cabrera del Mar. Barcelona, ??Spain Professors Monserrat Torrent and Guido Iotti.

2004 During the months of July and August he goes on an Organ Concert tour in Tierra de Campos Galicia Spain. In Historical Organs of Castilla y León.

2004 Inauguration with a concert of the (restored) Cavaille‑coll Organ (1871) by the Church of the French Fathers Valparaíso. Chile in December 2004.

2005 Invited and awarded a scholarship to the VII Orgue del Maresme Course, in Cabrera del Mar. Barcelona. Spain.

2005 Participates in Concerts on the Restored Organ of the Music Palace from Barcelona (while using the Scholarship)

2006 Invited and awarded scholarship to the X Fray J. de Echeverria Organ Academy (Carrión de las Condes), Palencia Spain.

2006 Inauguration of the Organ (Viscount) of the Cathedral of Copiapó. Chili.

2007 Invited and awarded scholarship to the XI Cur` d`Orgue del Maresme where he received classes magisterials by: E. Koiman and Monserrat Torrent, Barcelona Spain.

2007 Participates in Organ Concerts in Barcelona and Castello D`Empuries (Gerona) Spain.

2008 Invited and awarded scholarship to the VL Music course in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia Spain. Teacher Doña Monserrat Torrent.

2008 Participates in the Scholarship Concerts in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) Spain.

2009: Scholarship to the XI Curs d'Orgue del Maresne, professors Jos Vann der Kooy, Guido Iotti and Monserrat Torrent where he gave concerts in Granollels, Papiol and Cabrera de Mar in Barcelona Spain.

2010: Scholarship to the XIV Fray José de Echevarria Organ Academy where he gave concerts of organs in Palencia and Tierra de Campos.
In November 2010 he participated in the organ music festival by the III Universal Forum of Cultures Valparaíso 2010 where he gives concerts at the Church of the Sacred Hearts of Valparaíso, and in the Lutheran Church from Valparaiso.
He also gives a concert sponsored by the Goethe‑Institute and the French Alliance of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar in the organ of the Church of the Sanctuary of Lourdes de Miramar in Viña del Mar, where he also actively participates in the organ concert cycle.
