Organ performers

|
Born in 1981, Juan Mesa started his musical studies under the tutelage of
Francisco Delgado and Isabel Olavarría at the School of Culture and Artistic Dissemination of Puerto Montt.
Later he studied Organ with Carlos Weil in the same city,
and piano at the UACH Conservatory of Music in Valdivia, under the tutelage of Ximena Cabello.
In 2001 he moved to the United States to enter the Organ Chair at the University of
Western Connecticut as a student of teacher Stephen Roberts, thanks to a scholarship awarded by the same institution.
In June 2003, Juan Mesa was awarded the George Markey Scholarship for undergraduate students.
and the RCYO competition organized by the American Guild of Organists for students of the same level.
In 2006 he entered the Master's program at Indiana University,
as a student of maestro Christopher Young on organ and Elizabeth Wright on harpsichord.
He has performed recitals in different locations in the United States, including Connecticut,
Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana and California, where in July 2004 he carried out a concert
for the National Convention of the American Guild of Organists in the city of Los Angeles.
Juan Mesa graduated with the title of Bachelor of Music, mention Organ,
from Western Connecticut University (2005) and recently from Indiana University (2008)
with the title of Master of Music.
He is currently preparing to take the first year of the Doctorate program at the same institution,
and serves as assistant organist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Indianapolis,
under the direction of Michael Messina.
