Eduardo Ivan Alcayaga Castro was born in Valparaiso on May 21, 1972.

His father Gaston's record collection brought him into contact with all types of classical music at an early age. and popular, including Jazz, Rock and film music.

His musical and artistic activities began in basic education as a soloist and choir singer, also venturing into percussion instruments.

In the last two years of secondary education I actively participated in choral activity.

Through Don Eduardo Zamorano, his music teacher, starting in 1990, he received organic training from Dr. Luis Gonzalez Catalan, who imposed on him an extensive study program that included Music Theory, Harmony and Counterpoint, Gregorian Chant and Liturgy in relation to Sacred Music.

In musical performance, works from the Piano, Harpsichord and Organ repertoire were studied. with special emphasis on the techniques of interpretation, ornamentation and recording of early music.

He continued his vocal practice with the "Trias Harmonica" choir (Bach cantatas, Masses by various authors, Motets), and his Piano classes with teacher Flor Magri.

His work as a music calligrapher earned him an invitation to participate in the Official Choir of the Canonization ceremony of Sister Teresa of Los Andes in Rome, on March 21, 1993, under the papacy of John Paul II.

Later he served as assistant organist to Dr. Luis Gonzalez at the Benedictine Monastery of Las Condes, in the chapel of the Chilean Air Force and in the Santa Teresa Church, of The Company, becoming the owner of them until July 1995.

In 1995 he traveled to the USA to study for a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Performance. mentioned Organo, at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.

During that time he studied with two teachers from England, and with American doctors. Thomas Hughes and Roy Wilson.

In classical piano his teacher was Dr. William Westney.

Simultaneously, he also studied Jazz on Piano and Drums, and Latin Percussion. working with his own groups in Lubbock.

In 2001 he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Higher Organ Performance, He was subsequently hired as a teacher of keyboard, percussion, and Jazz and M studies. Latin music at South Plains College, in Levelland, Texas, a position he still holds in 2004.

He served as senior organist at Oakwood Methodist Church, at Saint Elizabeth's Catholic Church, and at Lubbock View Christian Church, of which he was also Choir Director.

Since 2002, he has been the principal organist of Christ the King Catholic Cathedral in Lubbock. Texas, and candidate for the degree of Master of Musical Arts in Organ Performance.

He also continues his activities as a percussionist in Latin music groups, and as a drummer and pianist in Jazz groups.
