Celso Acuña Maureira was born in Temuco on November 9, 1946.
At the age of 9 she entered the Leonor Davidson Conservatory of this
city, where he made his first studies in piano, theory and music theory.
In 1960 he moved to Santiago and continued his piano studies at the Conservatory
National Music Program of the University of Chile with Professor Germán Werner.
He was also a student of the prominent pianist Juan Lemann.
As a Higher Performance student, he performs several piano recitals,
those carried out in Santiago, Rancagua, Curico and Temuco stand out among the
years 1961 and 1970 (Valentín Letelier Room ‑ Hall of Honor of the University
from Chile in Santiago; Baptist School and German School of Temuco between
others.
In 1970 he began his organ studies at the National Conservatory of
Music.
Here He was a student of teacher Miguel Letelier and Carmen Rojas.
In 1972 he obtained a scholarship from the French Government where
He carries out studies on organ invoices at the Maison González in Paris and
and at the Maison Koenig in Alsace.
During this same period he was a student
by André Isoire.
Later he entered the Schola Cantorum of Paris
being a student of the great organist and composer Jean Langlais and where
obtains the degree of Diploma of the Schola Cantorum of Paris in June
1974.
In October of the same year he entered the National Conservatory of Music and Art
from Nice and studies with maestro René Saorgin, obtaining in June 1975 the First
Organ Prize from the Nice Conservatory by the unanimity of the jury, with
honors and congratulations.
On July 3, 1976 he obtained the Grand Prix d'Orgue from the Conservatory
National Music and Art Competition in Nice, competition held in the Cathedral of
Notre Dame de Paris.
As laureate of this Grand Prix he participates in the
traditional Sunday concert at the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris.
Celso Acuña, has performed numerous organ concerts in Europe among the
highlighting those carried out in Paris, Nice, Toulouse in France, Barcelona
and Tarragona in Spain.
