Miguel Castillo Didier is a professor at the University of Chile, where he teaches ancient and modern Greek and Neo‑Hellenic literature.

He made piano and organ studies at the National Conservatory.

Professor Castillo has developed various musicological works, among which stand out:

 L'orgue au Chile (in collaboration with Guy Bourligueux), 1978;
 Caracas and the king instrument (Catalogue of the organs of Caracas), 1979;
 Venezuela and the king instrument (Catalogue of the organs of Venezuela), 1983;
 ´organs and organists of the Cathedral of Caracas, 1983;
 “A Cavaillé‑Coll in the Emerita Augusta Americana (organs of Mé ;rida and the Venezuelan Andes)”, in Musical Magazine of Venezuela, No. 7‑8, 1983, 1982;
 Juan Bautista Plaza (1898‑1965): a life for music and for Venezuela , 1985;
 Centennial of the Cavaillé‑Coll organ of the Parish of San José of Caracas, 1989;
 Biography of Cayetano Carreño (1774‑1836), 1993.

In the Chilean Musical Magazine, from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, he has published:
